Students learn good dental habits in time for Halloween

Local elementary school students got a lesson in teeth brushing just in time for indulging in Halloween candy. Donning white bunny ears, Valerie Dunning walked around the multipurpose room at North Belmont Elementary School on Wednesday. Dressed as “Dr. Bunny” wearing a white lab coat, she offered tips on how to properly brush teeth, and then spit out toothpaste. Her friend, Janice Hammond, held a set of false teeth in her hands to demonstrate. Children looked on as Hammond scrubbed the teeth with the brush while repeating a rhyming phrase, “Brush, brush, twice a day to prevent tooth decay.”
